Fishy Portraits in Faro

Stall holder demonstrating freshness of cuttlefish _ Choco, Faro Market

Food markets are a great window on local tastes and rich source of subjects for a photographer.

I particularly like fish stalls with their shimmering wares in other worldly shapes and colours.

Stall holder are usually very proud of their produce and I find that if you show a genuine interest they are often very happy to explain and display the fish for you to photograph.  I always keep in mind that their main purpose is to serve their customers  and  step aside when a prospective buyer shows interest,  the result usually being a rewarding experience for all.

I would like to say a special thanks to the Proprietor and staff of  José Nascimento Jesus, Lda Mercado Municipal Faro, how were most enthusiastic  and helpful in displaying their  fish wares  for this  Fishy Portraits in Faro portfolio.
